Ways to pay tribute
Pink Heart Ribbon Tree
For a donation of $2 you can dedicate a pink heart ribbon “In Celebration Of” a loved one and help make an impact in our fight against breast cancer. The ribbons will be prominently displayed on Race Day. Donations can be made when you register online, at packet pick-up and on Race day.
Elizabeth's Garden
This will be the sixth year for Elizabeth's Garden, named in memory of Elizabeth Guardiola, a dedicated volunteer and friend who passed away in 2004. Elizabeth founded Hispanics for the Cure to promote breast cancer awareness among the Hispanic community. This beautiful garden is our way of paying tribute to her memory.
Decorating Elizabeth's Garden will be pink tulips, which can be purchased for $10. These artificial flowers are large enough to accommodate personal messages and tributes to honor survivors, co-survivors and those who have lost their battle with breast cancer.
Your last chance to order tulips will be at packet pick-up on Friday, June 11th. Look for Elizabeth's Garden on Race Day. You are welcome to pick up your flower after the Race.
Back Signs
Look for volunteers Race morning with special pink back signs. You can wear a back sign “In Honor Of” and/or “In Memory Of” special people in your life that have battled breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program is sponsored globally by Zeta Tau Alpha and locally by Alcatel-Lucent. |
