Friends for the Cure Pledge Program

Become a Friend for the Cure and the money you raise goes directly to help some familiar people.

You see them every day. In line at the post office, shopping for groceries, at your children’s school… people in your community who are, or who will be, affected by breast cancer. But it doesn’t take much to make a difference in their lives through the North Texas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Your commitment to participating in the Race goes a long way in helping us raise awareness of the one in eight American women diagnosed with breast cancer each year. By committing to collect $100 in donations, you can play a part in helping those in your community. And since it’s all online, it’s simple to do.

When you sign up as a Friend for the Cure, up to 75% of the money you raise through donations goes to help your family, friends and neighbors who live in Collin, Denton and Grayson counties.

The $100 you raise can help a woman who can’t afford a mammogram get one. It helps provide grants to pay for life-saving treatments, prosthetics, or a wig for a chemotherapy patient. It can help a family struggling with medical bills pay their mortgage or buy groceries.

If each participant simply collects $100 (whether it’s through ten $10 donations, two $50 donations, or a single donation) the total raised by the Komen North Texas Affiliate alone to fight this disease would add up to $1.2 million dollars!
